What is everyones thoughts on this topic? its got me very interested in it, watched a documentary today about it and they were discussing alot of stuff to do with the sun and to do with the way the earth spins.... does anyone else believe whats going to happen or have a prediction on what will happen?

Quite a few people think theres going to be an ice age or world wide flooding, but theres so much stuff being talked about its hard what to go on....

21st of December 2012 is the day when something is suppose to happen, either end of human race? start of something? who knows?

I know nothing will probably happen, but its such a high talked topic, im just interested to hear what everyone else thoughts are...

I love watching these kinds of docos coz they spark interest and debate, but i also take them with a grain of salt. I read plenty of books on these issues and whatever happens with the sun and earth has happened many times in the past and will happen many times in the future.

I agree those documentaries are fascinating but the 'end of the world' thing is so big that there's really not point worrying about it. If it's going to happen you can't stop it, you probably can't survive it so the best thing you can do is get on and try to make sure you lead a life that you can be poud of...afterall you might get hit by a bus next week and then 2012 won't matter one bit

I have begun plans for the end.

i saw that show a couple of weeks ago, it was interesting enough to keep me watching but really the human race has had people telling it that 'the end of the world is coming' for thousands of years.....whatever the day is that the world finishes, i'd think most if not all wouldn't have time to know anyway, as for me i think the end of the world will be the day you die.....every 'modern day prophet' or 'fortune teller' can give you a day or date when something will happen & i could guess & make a prediction as well, hell i'm still waiting for the tidal wave predicted for glenelg in the 1970's

No I don't believe 2012 will be any different from 2011 or 2013.

Interestingly a recent science show on SBS pointed out that if we gave any credence to Astrology - traditional or Mayan - we should consider two facts:
1. That due to orbital precession the sun no longer lines up in the same "Houses" on the traditional dates.
2. That there is actually a 13th star cluster in the *Zodiacal plane which has always been ignored by Astrologers - Ophiucus - the Serpent.

*The Zodiacal plane is an area of the sky out of alignment with the ecliptic such that the star clusters we see are never obscured by the Sun or Moon.
Incidentally the "clusters" that form the "Houses" are not really clusters but only appear too be from where we are looking.
In some cases one star in the "cluster" may be 40 light years away and the one that appears to be next to it may be 4000 light years away.
