A great day on the calendar and one most of us look forward to a lot. Having a quiet one today, but know that many are at the cricket, plenty have JJJ Hottest 100 going with a BBQ, and others taking it easy...but what does it mean to you?

Plus: where else but Australia for this to occur :) (and yes, I KNOW they are only found here):

Popped up a few songs that sum up the day for me...

This land is mine, by Paul Kelly, is, for me, a must listen to song on Australia Day...

I really take from it a story of both White Australians, and Aboriginals, and it just gets me in the right place...

And the only other song I require to hear is the Australian National Anthem, and I still stand up to listen to it.

Quite simply:

Family & Mates!

My late father taught me that without these two ingredients in life, well then life aint much.

My day; Worked, had a few jack the giants with friends & ate lamb cutlets with my 2 boys, 1 y.o. daughter & wife ( high fiven' me boys saying "How good is this?")

Gold

Yep, about 17 lambs on the bbq in various cuttings, plus a pile of beers.

Mowed the front lawn, washed my old XT Falcon and joined the Australia Day cruise from West Lakes down along Semaphore beach front and Outer Harbour to Tea Tree Plaza.

Headed home about 1ish for some lagers, went to a mates place and had a swim for a while with a few lagers, cooked some Kangaroo patties,Lamb and herb snags and lamb chops on the BBQ, with a few lagers.

Then home to watch the Aussies bat through one eye. ;) It seemed as though my right eye wasn't working properly.

Good day...
