Here here Pag, agree...

Had one for lunch yesterday at the Largs Pier Hotel and it was okay but was only about the size of a saucer...

First parmi in about three months at the Aldgate Pump Hotel the other day - The Parmageddon, a chicken parmi topped with ham, salami and hot pepperoni, tasty sauce and good cheese. A bit on the expensive side, but good nevertheless.

Yeah agree, haven't tried the other Earl's (of Aberdeen) parmi's but throught the Lecisters have gradually gone down-hill since I first had one there 3 years ago.

The Royal Hotel at Torrensville do a Schnitz with choice of sauce + Pint of Pale for $12 (Parmy = $14) .. The Schnitz certainly isn't top 10 but it's a decent size and nice enough, culminating in a top value deal.

IMHO The Birk does an excellent Parmy (and top deal to include a pint also).

Stoppped into the Riverbend Hotel (I think) in Tailem Bend on the way through last week. Had a nice Parmi there. The sauce was delicious and they didn't overdo the cheese. Also sat out on the balcony overlooking the river. Was very impressed and highly recommend it.

I'm a bit of a schnitzel freak, I've kept a list of every pub I've had a parmi at over the last 2 years with ratings, my girlfriend thinks it's the stupidest thing she's ever seen. Up to 72 on the list at the moment, and counting.

Top 5 for me:

Earl of Leicester
Coopers Alehouse
Mawson Lakes Hotel (Aussie topping = quality)
Valley Hotel, Tanunda
Waterside Hotel, Melbourne (cnr King & Flinders St)

At last a worthy topic to get your teeth stuck into.
I haven't been to the Earl of Leicester for 2 years but their parmi then was humongous.

The good news is:
I have found a better one since. I feast on it every Friday night. It only costs $9.00 with
unlimited smorgasbord helpings and during happy hour you can get a huge glass of
quality cab. sav. to go with it for only $3.05.

The bad news is:
I'm not allowed to tell anyone where this joint is. Private members only. Sorry.

Not being able to share is so painful. I'll just have to think of you all as I suffer in silence.
=p~
Oh the pain. The pain of it all.
=))
