Tonight, you will get the 2010 edition of the "Interstate Boxing Day Sales" on the news, while reminding us that Adelaide will have to wait until x day (Tuesday this year). Plus the obligatory camera coverage of the doors opening with the crush of people waiting to enter the store pouring into David Jones or whatever.

Every year we see this on the news. What do we also see every year?

Shops like IGA and smaller Foodland stores are open today - they do a roaring trade on days like these. :)

I recall the 2002 version because terrorism was a concern back then (1972).

Also, schoolies week and whatever trouble is caused by them.

They will show the usual shots of people walking down Rundle Mall, looking into closed shops, an interview with a tourist who says they wish shops were open.....

I see Monday's Today Tonight has an investigation into Adelaide's rising electricity costs and how to beat them.
Call me crazy but I'm guessing it will (a) feature somebeody shopping around some kind of electrical device that monitors household appliances' consumption and (b) recommend that you turn off said household items when you are not using them.

Brilliant!

Stop the road carnage story which then morphs into 1 of 2 sub-stories.

Low road toll = speed cameras working, so we need more
High road toll = call for more speed cameras by govt
