that is what i am in the process of drawing up. essentially what i want to provide is something you can easily set up and take down (and use in the backyard, park really anywhere). you would be able to use any club. also something that will collect the balls so you don't have to go chasing them all the time and also have more than one ball waiting to be used.
like i said still the early stages and wanting to see what the forumites feeling would be on the item.

Sounds handy for backyard cricket too. Can we see a pic of it? Or is it something you are designing?

but the benefits of designing your own could be that it becomes a world-wide phenomenon and we never hear or see Sorry Dude here again as he is constantly jetsetting the world

Go to the driving range, many benefits including;
1/ You won't kill your neighbour
2/ Someone else collects the balls
3/ Nothing to set up or take down
4/ In built tees or off the mat
It's a win, win situation.
You can do that. But instead of paying say $10 each time you go to the driving range you could get something like this and have it available to you anytime and it would work out cheaper over the long haul.

Point me to the nearest driving range, um, over 100km away.

my brother had a net in the abck yeard, was a bought one.
was just thick net that allowed air through but golf ball count get through
as for the self loading tee, best bet would be to go to the range and see how theres are designed.
seems a pretty simple design, could just use some pvc pipe to creat it and maybe make up some sort of steel caged pipe for the last bit.
You would need to either elevate the tee to allow for pipes or build them into the ground.
Good luck and let us know how you go!

Haven't these sort of things been around for decades.

Id be interested to see what you come up with, looking at one for my birthday...also been a dream of mine to get the back lawn to be a golf green, practice putting anytime I want. Will have to wait until the kids get a bit older though and I can get rid of the trampoline and swings etc
