Is this a serious question?!!? to HONOR them? :? WTF? Am i missing something? Didn't realise it was an "HONOR" to have a different sexual persuasion than others! :? While we're at it lets have a day to honor fat people or lazy people or something!?

Is there a day to honour straight people? Or celibate people? No.

To have a holiday in honour of gay and lesbian people, and not straight people, would be "reverse-discrimination."

And two homosexual males who have a child together through a surrogate would not celebrate or acknowledge Father's Day? :?

As far as im concerned (and im not a homophobe) this thread is a waste of space and time!

As someone wrote earlier, you have the Mardi Gras, what more do you need? Why should EVERYONE celebrate YOUR sexuality?!?

Also as bad as it probably sounds, i think its still a society and culture where people aren't 100% comfortable with embracing people being gay  so by having a Public holiday is just rubbing it in the faces of those who aren't ready for it

We should celebrate them. Honestly I'm not brave enough to take it up the behind.

Nice pun MP!

I am all for equality and recognition of gay and lesbian rights but a public holiday is not needed or warranted.
