JFK Assassination

After watching a couple of docos over the last few days, I am not as sure
as I was about the 'grassy knoll' conspiracy theory.
One show, sort of, proved that JFK could have been shot from the Depository building
and also claimed that if there was a shooter from in front of the car, then Jackie would
have been injured, even killed.
Has anyone changed their minds after watching these docos?

Wouldn't be surprised if that logic applies to the medical industry. Funny how our 2007 foot and mouth outbreak was traced back to an animal health company..."ooops sorry about letting a live virus out...oh and by the way did you know we can sell you a vaccine for that?"...yeh right.

Watched parts of the 2 part documentary on SBS tonight.
Compiled solely from tv coverage and private footage from the time.

Part one ended with Oswald being shot by Jack Ruby while he was being transferred from the police station to the county jail (despite the supposedly heavy security).

Ditto, watched it last night and thought it was one of the better doco's I've seen on the subject

Love the whole JFK conspiracy thing - and you're right, from watching the events as they unfolded on TV you would think that the bullets only came from one place, however I still have my doubts.

Unfortunately we won't know what really happened until 2048 or some ridiculous time frame like that :?

I dont really believe in conspiracy theories relating to such things as JFK and moon landing because they would require absolute secrecy, and one thing we know about human beings is that they cant be trusted to keep secrets. Someone involved directly or a family member would have said something publicly by now if the truth was contrary to the official version of events.

I buy into the JFK conspiracy theory (only to the extent that it wasn't Oswald) because of the apparent flaws in the official theory but perhaps I have just bought into the conspiracy theory too much. I don't think it was a CIA conspiracy but I think it's possible that the Govt wanted to show the public that they had found the assassin as quickly as they could even if that meant stretching the truth.

I can't see how JFK's head flies backwards if he was shot from the back. The Zabruder footage didn't come to light until close to 10 years later as I recall so the official verdict didn't have the benefit of it. Although they would have had the evidence from an autopsy I guess. Who knows?

The moon landing I see as different in that it's the conspiracy theory that has all the flaws.

I agree with GWW. It's the sheer number of people that would have to be sworn to secrecy and haven't said a single word since that make most conspiracy theories improbable.

A real dumb question i know.

BUT

If JFK's head flies backwards how is it even remotely possible that the bullet came from behind him, wouldnt that be the most basic of logic, am i missing something here.

The bullet passes through the head too easily in the entry wound, therefore not creating the forward movement through momentum. But the exit wound is far more violent, and creates a release of gas (and therefore energy) in the opposite direction to where the bullet came from, therefore causing the head to move back towards where the bullet came from. Type in Penn and Teller and watermelon in youtube and it shows this (I think its Penn & Teller).

the JFK story has always been one that has enthralled me even though i was only 13 months old when he got shot. A lot of things that happened on 22/11/1963 dont add up, the first question being why the SS bodyguards werent standing on the platforms at the back of the car like they did everywhere else? the story goes that quite a few of them got on the turps the night before and therefore they werent at the top of their game that day, i have seen footage as the entourage left dallas airport and when 1 guard went to jump on the platform he was shooed away by the guy in charge - most unusual, as for the shot which ultimately killed the president - where did it actually come from? the records say from the book depository supposedly from oswald, a popular train of thought was that it came somewhere from the opposite direction, there has even been footage on youtube where it looks like the driver of JFK's car did it! ever since i can remember there has always been serious doubt about oswald being the culprit, i tend to agree that it wasnt him,
