So, new belt or bigger pulley if belt unavailable?JAS wrote:I really must stop falling for the optimism trick by getting my hopes up about stuff...they catch me out every time.
Got about 3/4 through the cycle and stopped turning again...new theory...friction heats belt, old age makes belt stretch slightly so belt slips and won't turn drum. oh well back to the twintub.

Try switching it on again and see what happens.
I kid you not...someone is seriously screwing with my universe. Mine died weeks ago...drum stopped turning so thought the belt had gone. So on a bizarre whim today I thought I'd switch it on to see if the dyer still gave out heat to help dry some clothes even if the drum wouldn't move![]()

it's working again...the drum's turning again...washer and dyer

My theory is that when I dragged it out from under the worktop to try and open it up I must have jarred something back into place![]()
