Ab-Circle Pro

Have just bought one from EBAY (brand new, sealed in box, and a LOT cheaper than the prices quoted from the home shopping ads) to add to a lot of the other things I'm doing for fitness work over summer.

Does anyone here have one and if so, how have you found its effects short, medium and long term? I've used it already and it feels like the sort of thing that would work really well.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys but i found the AB Circle Pro to be a load of Sh*t! (mind you i was already injured when i started using it properly, haha)

My mum seems to buy alot of that stuff, and the ACP was great to start with, however i found it gave me lower back trouble. It also lost effect after a week or two. However, i'm still not entirely sure if i was using all of the settings correctly

I like the good ol' Ab swing... although i'm too lazy to put in the effort for that one. A bit off the Ab topic, i'm a big fan of the "Leg magic" :-bd

Anyhoo, i would say if you know 100% that you are using the settings correctly and your not just easily swinging from side to side then it may be effective. I know what i've just said isnt much help... but maybe it will help you realise there is apparently more than the one easy setting, lol :D

All that twisting with added momentum would predictably cause excessive torsion of the spine and cause back problems unless its resistance was permanently set to require active effort on your part to achieve the swing.
But the advertisements imply it can tone you up while reducing the effort in the exercise - that would have to be suspect.
I also think any TV promotion not bothering to replace US accents and terminology suggests the promoters don't respect their potential market in Oz and think it can be easily conned.

It does kinda 'reduce the effort'... because our friend gravity makes it swing from side to side after the initial push, hahaha.

Too right about the US accents, i would definitely feem more inclined to buy something if i didn't think it was American

I think my sister's got the Ab Circle Pro - she's got something that looks like it, anyway. But I don't think she uses it much - she likes to buy stuff, use it for a whole day going 'This is the best thing ever!!!' and then it goes away in my bedroom, which is where she stores all the stuff that won't fit into her bedroom, like Dudley Dursley in Harry Potter.

I can't use a lot of those exercise things at the moment because of my neck and back, but I make do with 15 minutes a day on the exercise bike - used to go for two to three hours at a time but I've got to get my neck sorted out - and I go for long walks with Luke in his pram. When I get more mobility I'll be able to do more stuff.

Each to their own, yet having used every piece of gym equipment on offer in two of the mainstream gyms my experience is that a Rowing Machine beats everything hands down, does upper, lower and torso all at once and you can use them for bicep curls and so on if you are so keen.

Thanks for the feedback, ladies and gents :) . I'm using it most nights and then supplementing with sit-ups also. So far, it seems to be working well, but will see how it goes over the longer term. Don't have Abs Of Steel just yet but it already feels better - hopefully that holds.

Agreed.
I did buy a cheap exercise bike from Big W after seeing and trying one at a friend's place.
It is genuinely silent so you can use it while watching TV.
In the past I've gone with sit ups and isometrics, and occasionally used a pair of hammers as weights.
Sit ups with a [small] box of books on your chest or forehead is another cheap solution...

You certainly don't need to buy all this advertised junk.

CK, It depends on your fitness level and your physical condition as to if the Ab-Circle pro will work for you. Aswell as using the Ab-Circle pro you also have to focus on other exercises, for that all over body workout. You also have to eat sensibly to be able to really see those results your looking for.

From a playing point of view- I don't have one and have never used one, but I'm interested in seeing the results. On TV they say it works and gives you that firm stomach your looking for but it's TV and they'll always try to suck people in to buying there products. I personally do quite alot of weight and strength training, involving alot of core work. I do exercises involving, using the ab swing, doing sit ups (with weights for extra resistance) and their variations (criss-cross, side-to-side), Bridges/planks, leg raises/lowering etc.

I don't use any fancy machines and I've found that I don't really have to because it's not what you have, it's the way you use it, to get that strong core every footballer looks for. Last season as I continued to do weights and core strength exercises, I started to see the results. I found that I could stand my ground more, push opposition players out of my way, off of me and off of the footy, easier than I could before.

So try it out mate and good luck, It will be good to find out if the Ab-Cirlcle Pro works for you and gets you the results you desire.
