Watched for about 15 minutes. Joffa scored three mentions during that time. I turned off. The combo was too hard to take.

(guess I'm still touchy about GF 8) )

I watched it a few years ago, once I got my IQ score I realised I was too smart to be sitting through anymore Eddie.

I think the people who chose the questions and answers failed from what I saw on the news: Obsequious = "nasty"

Yep, that was the real test.

When Stephen Hawking was asked what his IQ is he said "I dont know. People who brag about their IQs are losers anyway".

Language and factual knowledge based IQ tests are a bit of a farce anyway, as the results are influenced by education.
The WAIS tried to get around this by having multiple sub-tests testing different thinking and learning modes, and the Ravens Progressive Matrices by using pattern variations only.
I haven't looked at anything that has come up in recent years as it hasn't been relevant to my work.
The WAIS sub-tests could be useful in detecting subtle brain damage where one mode of learning could be affected and another not.

The whole show is a farce i mean seriously how accurate can something like that be?!

Eg. i answer 5 questions correct in the 1st couple seconds whilst someone else sits and takes 15sec or so to answer the same question, does this mean that person has the same IQ? I doubt it!

And that is just testing general knowledge, not intelligence anyway, in both cases. [Plus recall rate.]

I had my IQ tested as a kid; I think it was a psychologist who tested me. The whole thing took about four hours. I'm not sure what the point of it all was, though - my parents were pretty pleased with the result, but I certainly didn't turn out to be a physicist or whatever it was they expected of me. I always felt like they banked a lot on that IQ test result and that my subsequent academic performance really disappointed them until I got to uni and started studying the things that I wanted to, instead of what they wanted me to. Bloody IQ test really screwed me up as far as I'm concerned.

My High School ran IQ tests [Otis] to screen and stream the first year intake when I started.
When they read out the class lists it was obvious from the randomness alphabetically that no-one in the administration was bright enough to think of disguising the score order.
A few years later I helped out in the school office and got into the record cards and verified this deduction.

I met the Ravens Progressive Matrices later during a Psychology course.
At that time I also took some personality inventories and was not entirely surprised to find I scored just slightly above the normal range on the "Psychopathic Deviate" scale on the MMPI.

Presumably I am [or was then] just a little less conforming to standard societal values than the average Minnesota farmer.
So it's no biggy - that's my version and I'm sticking to it - and you don't want to annoy me... ;)
