There are some poor efforts going around. What is the worst you have seen/read?

None better then 5AA today saying 'the roughest result in 150 years of the Melb Cup' ? Surely a little bit of research would have been handy? A $11 winner is not the roughest result in 150 years.... not even close.

What about this from portlincolnraces.com.au

Port Lincoln races Port Lincoln is a small coastal city in Southern Australia. Makybe diva, the popular stallion that won the Melbourne Cup for a record three times, was bred in this city. In fact, the city is known for its culture of horse breeding and its many prominent citizens are fond of horse breeding and training. Given the culture of horse breeding, the presence of a racecourse seems an obvious possibility. Actually, Port Lincoln has a couple of good horse racing tracks that host a number of races known as the Port Lincoln races.

Can anyone check the facts here and get back to me? as I thought Makybve Diva was a mare, I am sure she was bred in England and never been anywhere near Port Lincoln. Port Lincoln has one shitty track in the swamplands and is hardly 'a culture of horse breeding'........ where do people get off writing such crud?

Thank god for media watch on the ABC to keep people honest

edited for total accuracy ;) & agreed, as for the mare i read that she was conceived in france but was born in england

as for the port lincoln track i haven't been there so i can't comment although i've been to the port lincoln dogs a couple of times many years ago

the trouble with hearing or watching the reports is unless you know about whatever the story is you haven't any clue whether it is accurate or not
