The second one is on their way up as we speak. Channel 9 has rolling coverage of the rescue

So were they cleaned up before shown to the Media ?? or just well looked after somehow down in that mine!

I'm going with option A.

I personally think that dirty, unshaven, hungry looking would have been more impactful, not blokes that look nice and clean- because that just isn't realistic.

They've been able to pass stuff down to them for a while now.

Good thing Pinochet isn't still the boss. He would have flooded the mine the minute he heard the underground was rising.

Because they haven't.

According to the interviews on the BBC they've had high nutritional food and supplements, ok not the beers, steaks and empenadas they wanted but still good food. They've had movies sent down, music, live newsfeeds and tv, fresh clothes, medicines for those that needed them, frequent letters and calls from family and even cigarettes. Yeh it's still a horrible situation to be in but it's been made as tolerable as possible. One medical official even reckoned that most of them are fitter and healthier now than before the accident due to not having access to booze and drugs.

They said one of the biggest problems will be the fact that some will be in deep, deep, doodoo with their families as quite a few 'other' children have ermmmm been discovered during all this.

It's still a fantastic achievement to get them out of there.

good to see this is finally over for the miners. bet they are happy.

Also what about the last miners to be rescued. How would you feel being lonely down there for the time second to last miner goes up until the capsule returns for the last guy. Would be freaky down there by yourself

Didn't they send down a team of paramedics etc on the first few runs of the capsule (that was the plan I heard). Apparently they'd all been volunteering to be last man out cos whoever is will be the world record holder and probably get the best book/movie/interview deals...revolting thought but that's the sort of world we live in now.

Yep really. They were talking about it last night...been a few incidents of all hell breaking out in the 'tent city' where the families have been staying. Women previously unknown to the families turning up with kid/s in tow etc.

That'd be another reason to be careful where you put it...never know when you're going to be become famous on a global scale or who else will want a piece of the pie

Bet anything that someone "breaks" and goes on their own...

After the day I've had it certainly put some perspective on life
