I remember reading a history that suggested that women with some facial hair were favoured as attractive in Spain, contemporaneously with the Tudor period in the UK, and that was one reason why Henry VIII was not entirely happy with his first wife Catherine of Aragon. However none of the pictures of her I've seen show facial hair.

I did at one time in the 1970s go out a few times with a [female] Israeli Army Sergeant, who had a very faint moustache.
[She was over here for a 3 month holiday, visiting her Nuclear Physicist father, who then followed her back to Israel.]

My sister's godmother has a moustache, and she is mad, so I associate the two. I just can't understand why women with moustaches don't get them removed!

lol yep her picture is up in the Flinders Social Sciences South building!

I have a friend whose girlfriend has a beard. It's awful because I think of her as 'Beardylady' and a couple of times I've nearly called her that to her face by accident. I'm not trying to be horrible, it's just how I identify her because I don't know her well enough to be like 'Ah yes, I know her, she has three spaniels' or 'Ah yes, she went to Madagascar and got bitten by a lemur'. Instead, my first thought is 'Ah yes, she's the one with the beard' because the beard is the only thing that as of yet distinguishes her from the common herd of acquaintances.

There's a woman at Brighton Post Office with stubble on her third chin - she lets the rest grow.

I can't go there any more.
