Anybody got a good fishing spot around the adelaide area? havent been fishing for yonks and planning on going next weekend, and actually wanted to catch something even if its undersize! its just the fun of catching em!

Myponga Beach has always been a good spot for me. I've always caught something down there, even if it's only 3cm long!

where abouts mcspaz?? im down south happy valley way so i think thats the way i should be heading

ayyyyy! Happy Valley, my home! To get to Myponga Beach, go down South Road past Sellicks, past Myponga, eventually you'll come to a turn-off to the right which is Myponga Beach Rd. It's got a turning lane so you can't miss it. Go up it - don't mind the gravel, it's only unsealed for a little while - and when you get to the intersection with Forktree Rd, turn right to continue down Myponga Beach Rd. This road is all gravel but it's graded pretty regularly so you should be OK. And the beach is at the end of the road. It's fairly sheltered and you can usually catch a decent haul of whiting, mullet and tommies. I've also caught plenty of leatherjackets off the rocks.

Cockles and a sinker, pretty basic.

Ive never fished around there
but supposedly there is plenty of squid around hallet cove and that sort of area??

Hindley St is pretty good for catching crabs...

Bit cold for the likes of me to fly fish for bream(or anything else) at present .
I was looking at the water around the birkenhead bridge could have been some fish moving out in the middle of the river

Whats the bottom like fisho mcspaz does he need a paternoster style rig .Or would a tiny free running sinker be OK?
Or could he use a pencil float .

Tiny free running sinker is the go - bottom is clear and reasonably shallow if you're fishing off the beach. You get the odd day where the water's chock full of seaweed but only after rough weather, which is pretty rare. Watch out around the rocks - I've lost count of how many times I've been snagged and lost the bottom.

Not for me I like me fly fishing but I'll keep the beach in mind.always looking for new spots to try for bream etc.
