Sports Club Development Conference

Postby Squawk » Wed May 26, 2010 9:48 pm

I'm putting this post up under "SANFL" purely to gain maximum exposure of what looks to be an excellent initiative at a very cheap rate.

The 2010 Sporting Club Development Conference is being held this Sunday. (Unfortunately there are 3 SANFL games on the same day, including one in the country, but obviously it's been programmed at AAMI Stadium around the AFL fixture).

This Conference should hold wide appeal to many different sports clubs (cricket, netball, baseball, soccer, basketball etc etc), and as many people on this site have various degrees of involvement with sports clubs, I thought it might hold wide appeal. At $30 per club, it's outstanding value IMHO.

Even if your SANFL Club has operational commitments to football on Sunday, I guess there is still an opportunity for other (non-operational) staff and volunteers to go along. Even a board member perhaps ;)

2010 SPORTING CLUB DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE - Real Clubs, Real Stories
AAMI Stadium Convention Centre, Turner Drive, West Lakes
Sunday 30 May 2010, 8.45am – 3.30pm.

Be inspired by keynote speakers:
Peter FitzSimons: Columnist, ex Rugby International & best selling author.
Peter speaks on his favourite subject of sport and gives his thoughts on the importance of community sporting clubs in today’s society.
Colin Pearce: Funny, feisty and fast.
Colin’s message is straight forward "If you have a sick sporting club, you either have a sick story or you've forgotten your core story. If you have a great sporting club, the only way you'll keep it great is to re-live and re-tell the story."

Breakout sessions include:
Plan your sporting club in one hour
STARCLUB - Sporting Club Development Program
Technology - friend or foe for your sporting club?
Attracting new members and volunteers
Financial and marketing tips
Keeping your sporting club compliant
Cost: $30 for the first sporting club delegate, second delegate at no cost. Lunch, morning and afternoon tea provided .
