25 years ago today

Hopefully sports fans everywhere will spare a thought today in remembrance of the victims of the tragedy at Bradford's Valley Parade ground on this, the 25th anniversary.

I'd just been posted away from Lincoln (their opponents that day) and just happened to have the tv on while finishing my unpacking. I vividly remember watching in horror as it was shown live on television...doesn't seem like 25 years.

I saw the footage of this disaster during a fire safety course a few years back. I was amazed and appalled at what started as so little (a small paper fire in the stand) ended up as an inferno that killed and injured so many people.

A very sad day...

Likewise. The course was the first time I'd seen the footage. Just unbelievable how it spread so fast. A few videos on you-tube for people who haven't seen it, but be warned some of the footage is disturbing.

RIP you Bantams....
