I bought a Fairmont last week and i love it. BUT, there are two things I need to know...
1) the rear end is pretty high (suspension wise)...does anyone know how much it costs for a Ford Dealership to lower the suspension?
2) I need a new central locking remote...does anyone know how much they cost to get replaced?
Awesome car!!!

Nice work h-h3- we currently have a BF Fairmont, traded in from an AU111 Fairmont.
Love em, drive a treat.
LMA is on the money, reckon about $50-75 for a new remote(s)
No idea with the suspension, but try
http://www.fordforums.com.au : blokes on there know nearly anything you'd like to know about ford modifications...

Have a read on the forum about lowering it, you would need to do the front and back then I would say
go and see a car shop and get a price from them!
I reckon its $50-60 for the key it self but dont you also have to get it programmed??
that would be at least another $50 odd you would think?
I could be wrong though!

Go to a key-cutter, there's one in the Munno Para Shopping City that does them for $50, I was a bit suss but the missus went ahead anyway and saved us $70. I have a commodore but I'm sure if you ask the bloke he'll tell you whether he can or can't do it, I'm assuming you're still up north.

I agree, the dealers always charge a premium for anything. Give Industrial Springs a try on Port Rd - they make the actual suspension springs for many of the car-makers, and also do some installation.

It is no more than $275 for a pair of new standard rear coil springs & one hour labour to change them ...so $375 all up is approx. all you need to be paying to lower the rear suspension back down ( is it really that high ? or is the front low ?? )

the backs pretty high...the wheel arch is about 2-3 inches above the top of the tyre
