Annoying Telstra

Postby Mickyj » Wed Jan 06, 2010 8:37 pm

Topic tittle says it all .Over the last couple of years they have called and called and called .Had the odd knock at the door .Including tonight
I've been told everything over the last couple of years from
1 you owe us money
2 you have to pay us for line rental
3 your the only customer left in this area/street who is not with Telstra
4 you are paying someone else for line rental and we have a complaint about you paying another company for line rental
5 and after the last one do you actually have a land-line

And these damn Telstra don't accept that we are happy with our current internet / phone provider .
You should have seen their face tonight when I said we have not been with Telstra for between 15 to 17 years.

Why wont they take no as an answer!!!

You guys heard of voip using naked adsl?
It works. Brilliantly. No line rental. No telstra. No annoying incompetence from australias most poorly run business.

A while back Tel$tra starting sending our bill to two-doors-down and vice versa, for no good reason. I didn't realise we weren't getting our bill until they cut us off for non-payment.

I'm not with them and they wont leave me alone .
I still think they'd be knocking at my door with voip .

Perhaps a no hawker sign or hawkers will be shot and buried sign is in need .

We just got rid of Telstra a couple of weeks ago and went with Adam Internet instead. We get the employee rates but even if we didn't it'd still equate to about $100 less per quarter. Best thing - no having to ring up Telstra and cancel the connection, Adam did that for us. Every time I've rung Telstra telling them, 'I can't really afford this, I'd like to downgrade my plan' they tried to sell me something else.

I had a guy of sub-continent appearance knock on my front door a few weeks back.

He knocked and held the screen door open, should have seen his face when I opened the other door and my Weimaraner ran at him, PRICELESS!!

He then tried to convince me I need a home phone, I simply called the dog back to the front door!

My wife was confronted with a salesman from Telstra attempting to convince her that we are the only people in the street not on Telstra and after conversing with her for a few mintues said "can I have a drink of water, it's very hot". Strange.

although I am looking at getting rid of the home phone and going naked adsl (hopefully) with my ISP as we only really have the home line for internet

I haven't been bothered by Telstra callers, but I've had door knockers from Foxtel, Optus, and the Jehovah's Witnesses. Only the JWs were not Indian..
I'm glad to know some of you are keeping up my dividends from my Telstra shares, though I've just written to shareholder services pointing out why I as a shareholder don't use any of their services myself...
