Products of yesteryear you would like to see return

Postby westozfalcon » Mon Jan 04, 2010 10:12 pm

This is similar to the 'Whatever happened to' thread that was active for a while but I was wondering what products there were that you used to buy in the shops that you'd like to see back on shop shelves. Here's a handful of ones for mine:-

Uncle Sam deodorant spray
Freedent chewing gum
Leed lemonade
Red Rooster's 'Chicketti'
VB and Fosters 750ml cans
Ipana toothpaste
Mello Yellow soft drink

Don't know if it was ever sold over there but a few years back SunPat (the peanut butter people) did a cheddar cheese spread in a jar. I loved that...was similar consistancy to Dairylea but with a much more grown-up taste of mature cheddar.

Candy floss on a stick...if you have a different name for it I mean the pink spun sugar you get a fairgrounds etc. I know the sticks are probably extremely dangerous but a polythene bag of it just doesn't have the same childhood delight and magic as trying to eat it from a stick and getting covered in it

When I look around the shops there are a few things I could have done without being brought back...

Flares
Platform shoes
Cheesecloth
Leggings (especially in much larger sizes)
Leg warmers

Toffee apple paddle pops! They were bright red and green and probably awful but I loved them as a kid.

I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

They brought them back a while ago but only as a temporary thing. I bought stacks but now they're gone again sadly... Nothing better than 2 bushies with a slab of butter in between... mmm...
