is cricket the only sport that applauds opponents ?

i think that cricket is the only sport in the world where consistently opposition supporters acknowledge & applaud the opposition, am i right ?

Can't say I've ever really seen golf as a game with "opposition" as such. Seems weird I know, I guess it's because there is no "direct" opponent.

try watching the ryder cup (golf) in americaor the davis cup ( mens tennis) final in spain
