Nothing like a little mathematical analysis to destroy the wonder of these things 8)

Any two digit number written as XY has the value 10xX+Y

Subtract the two digits, value = 10X+Y-X-Y = 9X

This value will always be a multiple of 9.

On the final grid, the numbers which are multiples of 9 (9, 18, 27, 36, etc) are assigned the same object. So no matter what your original number, you will pick only one object.

It's still good fun though...I'll be sending the link to the No1 godson and his sister cos at 8 and 9 years old they won't be able to work out how it's done and will think it's amazing
