What to buy the wife for Xmas

Surely i am not the only one out there with this dilemma.

A budget of $20-30. Get something nice or funny, from the heart.
Well thats the instruction... BUT
Do i overspend on something she will like? Knowing fully well she will be upset because said wife only spent $19.95 on a T-shirt with a funny slogan OR
do I spend $25 on body chocolate? Knowing fully well said wife has spent $99 on Geelong DVD of 2009 finals series, and body chocolate proves i have no imagination whatsoever except about you know what!

Decisions, decisions.......

always spend a little bit more than the budget, you can't be cheap. you'll be in trouble no matter which way you go but you got more chance of getting out of it if you spoil her. body chocolate is a present for yourself! don't be greedy!!!

we've decided on a $200 budget this year, quite generous but she wants so many fricken things!!! my plans are;

- a puzzle, she's always talking about getting one $40, i'm guessing
- bonsai or pot pourri plant (on display at Tynte flowers in Nth Adel.) $40
- perfume, Covet i think is the one $80
- i haven't decided what the last bit of the budget is going towards, maybe some stuff from the body shop, we'll see...

Ok,NG. Good start.
Bonsai sounds good, but 4 years too late or early with the kid situation. Ditto with the pot pourri.
Perfume is left for birthdays & wedding anniversary which are only 2 days apart.
Puzzle? I love em, she hates em!
Keep it coming...
only 9 days left.

Sorry mate but perfume is always a winner and it's at it's cheapest around Christmas.

$200 budget NG, I guess you are kidless.

I'm not saying what I bought Mrs DW, she sometimes reads the site and I can promise you that any thread titled 'What to buy the wife for Xmas' is sure to attract her attention.

Personally, I don't envy her at this time of year. My birthday, Christmas and our wedding anniversary are all within two weeks of each other. That's a few presents to try and be creative with.

We usually buy our own presents and surprise each other with what we got for ourselves on Christmas Day, this does however exclude any budgetry restraints. ( Especially on her side )

I'm going to buy myself a new bike this year. Started looking around today. To the mob in Halifax St, get stuffed. Just because Im over weight and in a collar and tie doesn't mean you need to ignore me. I had in fact spotted just what I wanted, pre-loved for about $1k. No service.

NO SALE!

no kids as yet and not for at least another 18 months... we're going to America again in January 2011 with her now widowed grandmother as she won't travel alone and her daughter lives there...

Go to a Harvey Norman or some other form of photo shop and take a really nice picture with you of the kids, animals, you two together etc.. and have them put on a 2010 calender.

I know these things have a bit of a wait so not sure if you've left enough time to get it done.

But it's a nice thought :D

My husband and I usually get between $50 to $100 to spend on each other for Christmas.

He always says "What do you want?"
I always say "Surprise me"

Well...now... I don't want to sound ungrateful buuutttt the past two years have consisted of...
A dart board  (yes he and the A sons loved it)
A soundtrack/CD that we already have  (Still wrapped in the plastic)
A DVD that he liked and thought I did :-q Wrong - but him and the kids watched it while I did the dishes/clean up christmas day

Soooooo.....

This year I've decided that I am going to hand him the zamels catalogue with said $50 - $100 !! O:)

btw all you McLaren people - what's said on the forum stays on the forum

Work out a night that you want go out with some mates and look for a good movie night she can go to while you go out and play with mates as it should be. She will never forget presents like these. Or a carton of Bundy Moe and put on an erotic dance for her!

I hate these bloody Pandora bracelets, but at least its nice and simple for Mothers Day, Birthdays and Christmas, she just circles the charm she wants and I go buy it, no thought required, so I asked her to do it yesterday and she came back with the gold ones circled, nothing under $300....FFS her bracelet is already worth over $1500
