Things you have kept for value later on

After reading Gadj's comment on the new vegemite thread, I thought I might see what other people have put away to see might be valuable one day.
I have a carton of Port Power 2004 Premiership Beer glad-wrapped to see if it will gain any value, at this rate we wont win another one for fifty years so it might be worth something one day.
I remember drinking a carton of Duff beer with a mate and joking about how long they will last on the shelf, who's an idiot now.

Dunno if Port Power beer would sell mate as I heard it went sour in September 2007.

It's undrinkable after a year anyway, at least it provides proof that they did win a premiership.

Funny, thinking about it I have a heap of 'For Ron's'

- 80's state guernsey (not worth much)
- lace up Sturt guernsey from the 70's (not worth much)
- a Sturt metallic mirror thing (not worth much)
- Bradman commemorative coin, I think it was a $10 coin (not worth much)
- 1986 commemorative Jubilee coin, I think it was a $5 coin (not worth much)
- old yo-yo's, dunno what value they hold
- a toy Batman car with trailer and boat, probably valued in the hundreds now
- an old jukebox from 1973, working (valued at about $800, bought for $300)
- a Hankin tabletop machine, working (worth approx $4k, bought for $800)
- two consecutive numbered $2 notes (no idea what value)

Just for starters.

A 200ml? old style bottle of Diet Coke with Lemon - which was only on the market for a short while in cans and even less were made in the bottles (designed specifically for cafe's)

NFI what it's worth to a coke collector...

If you have a 1930 penny you are a very lucky man scottroo because even one of those in 'average' condition is worth well over $20,000. One in mint condition could see you sitting on something around $200 grand plus !!

I have most of them too (thanks to 13 years working at the RBA) and quite a few from the late 1800's as well but none as valuable as the '30...sadly... :(

I've got a 1907 violin made and signed by Paul Baily in Paris.
I paid $690 for it in an Adelaide music shop in 1979 - the last one sold in London by Sothebys several years ago brought 5000 Pounds.
I'm waiting for our dollar to collapse before I consider selling, or may take it with me when I visit the UK and sell it to fund some of the trip.
Also have a first edition bound collection of Charles Dickens "Household Words" - about $600 in 1979 too.
I have no idea of current value.

Paul Keating, of course collected antique French clocks...

I've kept the wife, only 'cause it's far too costly to trade her in. Her super is huge!
