why cant us hard working people get some joy for working.. how bloody hard would it be to not charge us any taxes and the money they need to do road works, new schools, and what ever else our money goes on can be made at the mint... that way more money can go back into the economy which makes for more jobs and for alot of happy workers not getting charged any tax..

Is this a serious question?

My thoughts are why not pay any tax and when the government want to build a new road, school, hospital etc. Put an application into me, i will review the appliaction and decide how much if any of my money should go into a road i will never use, or a school i wont be sending my child to. Better yet, work for the dole. I would like one work for the dole person to come to my house do my washin, ironing, lawnmowing, cleaning etc. I will then pay them thier fornightly salary out of my tax money.

On a serious note, when i was on wages i used to hate getting taxed more for doing overtime. My opinion is and will always be that if you get extra money out of overtime then it was worth doing it but we should not be penalised for doing so.

i will be the first to admitt i am not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to this crap... but to me if i get taxed 300 dollars and that 300 goes on a street sign, why cant i keep that 300 and they just make it up.. at the end of the day the street sign will go up and i will be 300 better off.. which i might spend in a shopping centre or at the crazy horse, either way it will go to someone who needs it..

i dont think by us keeping all of what we earn is to much to ask for.. the only diff i can see out of it all is that there will be more paper used to create more bills.. how can anything else change??

As a result you get accelerated inflation, and the social unrest that follows.

As a result you get accelerated inflation, and the social unrest that follows.

the social unrest has always been in africa, so nothing has changed there.. so dont print the money to hand out just bump up the budget to counteract our taxes..

Are you know talking about increasing our already large deficit now?
It achieves the same end result - hyperinflation.

I agree much of Africa has chronic unrest, but hyperinflation in Germany post WWI led to such unrest that a once civilised country embraced National Socialism and all sorts of insanity that followed.
One of Hitler's first works was to tackle hyperinflation and he did that fairly well, which may partially explain why he was supported in other ideas of his later.

If my memory of my yr 12 modern history is correct, this was one of the major reasons the Nazi's ascended to power in the 20's/30's in Germany. Some bright spark came up with the idea of printing more money to combat the financial difficulty caused by the penalties inflicted by the League of Nations after WW1.

Pretty soon people were using wheelbarrows full of cash just to buy a loaf of bread. People were not happy about using their whole life savings just to purchase loaf of bread = little man with dodgy moustache all of a sudden sounds like a very sensible bloke, and the rest, as they say, is history.

No, just a few stamps some older relatives brought back and gave my older sister when she was young.
I did have a Wehrmarcht helmet at one time but that is long gone.
The only painting of any value is a John Tiplady, and there is a 1907 vintage violin by French maker, Paul Baily.

The first thing I thought of when reading this thread was the Weimar Republic's financial crisis, which had the long term result of causing World War II.

it seems i am out numbered on this one.. i stiil cant see why if we didnt pay tax we would be walking around with wheelbarrows of cash... but nevermind i will just go back to driving my truck and pay the goverment the right for letting me do that..

You might want to go and live in Dubai, with the amount of Oil Reserves there, there's very little or no Income Tax paid by the residents.
