Dreamin Doggies

Postby nuggety goodness » Thu Sep 24, 2009 4:29 pm

i work from home and i have a ten week old Akita pup and every day he will be crashed out on the lounge room floor and start suckling or his legs will start moving as if he's trying to run or even barking and growling...

my guess is he's dreaming but i'd like to know if that is the case what the heck he'd be dreaming about!!! and if there's been any study done into it...

i'm sure other owners have noticed their pets doing similar things...
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

I'm sure all dogs do that (except Booney's of course)...all our family dogs did the leg twitching and mine even made a sort of half growl half whimpering noise sometimes.

The only thing about it I found that's not just a forum soppy buggers cooing over their pets is this...they don't quote a research source (maybe Psyber has one ;) ) but it sounds feasible enough.

Remembering reading scientists believe dogs are the "lowest" form of animal that actually does dream.

As far what they dream about - perhaps ask Gary Larson
