I like Gaymer's.

Crap name, great cider. Comes in big 568 ml pint bottles, feels good.

But I have to agree, Dickens cider is easily better!

Three Oaks Cider is worth a try

I went to a product launch last week for Monteiths (NZ) Cider. I rarely drink cider but this is by far the best i have ever tried. The difference is that strongbow etc use concentrated pear and apple juice whereas the Montheiths uses fresh crushed apple. It should go nuts in summer esp at the $14.99 a 6pk range. The three oaks is also good, its actually produced at Serafino winery at McLaren Vale and comes in cans aswell! But If you come across it, give the Monteiths a go.

Bulmers, Gaymers, and probably the pick of the bunch - Koppaberg.

While living in London, I seriously though about the potential of exporting ciders to Australia. However, is it socially acceptable for blokes to drink cider?

IMO it is, because it tasted so bloody good and is the best option for when you want to mix it up a little from drinking beer. It's a better option to getting on the spirits and also a great choice if you're not too partial to wines.

Cider is the way forward IMO!

And the fact that they have it on tap makes it even better. 8)

Exactly. Although I found that there's less of a difference in taste between the draght and bottled versions of cider. Far less so than beer anyway.

But it's alway better drinking out of a pint.

I'll keep my eye open for some of these. I've always liked a good Cider, but found Strongbow was a bit rough on my stomach.
A fully brewed one rather than a concentrate mixed into an alcohol base may be what I need.

Havent tried the others but Bulmers is a good drop
the pub round the corner from work has it on tap.
usually have one when we go there just as a change up from beer and spirits!

As for is it socially acceptable, I think it is becoming
even though my opinion of it is its a beer you have once in a while for a change, just like you said!
