In light of my older bro calling me today to let me know that he had won tix to this years brownlow medal, it got me wondering what the coolest thing i've ever won was.

it dosnt hae to be the most expensive thing you've won, although i understand that alot of the time it probably is!

and i've decided that it shouldnt be cash won from gambling on dogs/horses and the like.

I won a double gold pass to the 94 Australian GP. Was a comp on Ch9 news where if they flashed your street name on screen and you were the first to call through you won the tickets... Was only 16, so I was pretty happy...

When I was about 12 or 13 y.o. , I won a 10speed Porsche Bike in a raffle at the Norwood velodrome. About 3 weeks later , some thieving bas%^#d stole it from our backyard. Was great while it lasted, but I was crushed when was stolen. That is still to this day, on merit, the best thing I have ever won. To a kid, it was akin to winning a really good car.

Did someone say car? ... yep, won one of them.

prior to that a take 40 australia prize pack which included - a 6 pack of coke, a vinyl 45 from a band id never heard of and some vouchers and possibly a hat....circa 1984, i was about 8 at the time so was pretty stoked!!

Coolest thing (well I thought), was a Norwood sparkly mirror thing back in the 80's via the mid-dawn show (pre-SBS, had to go to desperate lengths to try and catch a glimpse of boob).

Won a chopping block and Meccano set on Wheel Of Fortune but didn't care for either and sold them ... Have had a number of wins, but always seem to be the minor prizes.

I won a couple of Tom Baker era Doctor Who videos (The Power of Kroll and The Armageddon Factor) from a competition in Rip It Up magazine (or was it dB?). I had to answer a question regarding the real-life relationship between Tom Baker and Lalla Ward. I was a shoe-in to win it, I reckon the rest of Rip It Up's readership had too much pride to enter that competition

I used to win heaps of stuff from three-D radio when I used to be a subscriber.... a whole bunch of CDs, tickets to movies, a voucher for a coffee shop, etc

I think I'd be squarely in the 'I almost never win anything' camp

Years ago one of the civvi's at work sold me some tickets for his village fete raffle...woohooo I won a sack of spuds...very handy when you live in barracks...thankfully an officer with a large family decided to treat the missus and gave me £20 for them.

Only other thing was a few months ago in an online draw I won a Monopoly card game which I gave to No 1 godson and his sister...they were surprisingly happy with it despite the lack of gaming electronics

Still laws of probability say I must win big one day...if I can just live long enough

I've only won something once.
It was 3rd prize from the recent houseboat expo at Mannum, value $300 of car care products.
I was stoked until the prize arrived.
Tape measures, electrical wire, stubby holder and a few nick nacks.
Besides a decent oil, jumper leads and coolant I reckon I could've bought the box for $90.
Not a single car wash, wax or polish !

I was a lucky winner in the Great National Service Lottery, I was one of 1200 winners of the 13th draw, prizes included a 2 year holiday away from home with the the chances of once there winning a further 12 months all expenses paid adventure of a life time at an exotic and erotic South East asian resort. Cool, strolling through the vegetation and rice paddies was an experience that will live with me a lifetime.

Come to think of it in a more subdued nature, I did win a marshmallow rabbit once in a raffel, when I was in about grade 3 in primary school, is that what you were meaning.

I was about 8 and won a family trip to Mt Gambier on the Bluebird for the weekend. I was just in shock when I heard my name over the PA at Keswick

The "coolest" thing I have ever won is definetely a West End mini fridge.

The only thing I've ever won is a Shane Warne 'Spinning the Hits' promotional CD from the am radio station in Murray Bridge about 15 years ago.

Unfortunately I'm not the luckiest man going around.

Coolest thing Ive won was a pen on the now defunct "Temptation". Champ had to pull 25 bucks off the board to beat me,
but if you throw in flights, limo from airport to accomadation @ Crown with dinner and breakfast PLUS meetin the stunning Livinia Nixon (Im telling you she literally glows in real life) and Tony Jones mistaking me for Nick Stevens in the Channel 9 canteen, it was a pretty good prize.
