House Cleaners

My wife has just gone back to work almost fulltime, and she is extremely keen on getting a house cleaner in once a week to take the pressure off the home duties (which we both do a share of

). Obviously with 3 kids under the age of 7, our house can resemble a war-zone on a fairly regular basis.
Im not sure how i actually feel about getting a stranger in to clean our house - i can see positives and negatives.
The obvious positive is that the missus will be happy...
This is all entirely foreign to me,so just after any advice/stories/experiences anyone has regarding cleaners, good or bad.

A good family friend cleans our place once a fortnight. And for the same reason as you Felch, it's too much to ask the missus to do it, even though she's on maternity leave.
We get charged $15 per hour and the lady is here for three hours. We've got a fairly big house so it does take a while to get around to each room.
For me, it's definitely worth the money. I'd rather spend the $45 than have to clean bathrooms and loos each Sunday or have the missus flat chat with the kids having to worry about it.
As far as privacy goes, this lady has been a professional cleaner in Adelaide since before I was born, so we have no concerns about that either.
If you want, I can give you her number. I understand she's pretty busy but you never know. I'm close in proximity to you as well.

Yeah we have 2 ladies come around fortnightly and go over it thoroughly, doesnt cost that much and gives us back part of our weekend to spend with the Boys...only thing I hate is getting the house clean so they can clean it!!

Our house is reasonable size too, so i think we would be looking for a similar arrangement Gadj. If you could PM me the details, that would be great.
Dutchy, knowing my wife, she will be exactly the same. She would be worried the cleaner thinks she is a bad mother and wife, and would spend hours cleaning up before hand !!!

We use Bizzi Beez. Mainly coz they supplied referees and a police check and were the keenest for the job out of 10 outfits that were contacted. Had them for 5 yrs and never had a problem.

My experience with Bizzi Beez was the same. I would recommend them.

Ah, no...hence the term 'day off'...
I do actually do some housework on those days...just not normally to the standards my wife expects !!!
