Toy Sales

Postby brod » Thu Jul 02, 2009 3:58 am

Went to have a look at Big W tonight, wanting to pick up a couple of things for Little Brod. Got there at 1150pm to be greeted by about 200 people lined up under a narrow verandah braving the gusty wind and heavy rain  . So, I.....went home, and headed back about 2am and was able to walk around the shop with the other 5 people who had decided to visit a department store in the middle of the night.

Got my couple of bargains and went home, happy with my second trip out, and with a lesson learned.

My missus got up early and went to the K-Mart one at Port Adelaide, with the list ready. She got everything and said it was rather quite !

All on Lay-by and that's Christmas done !!

Usual kick for the start of the financial year for the stores (K-Mart, BIG-W & Target).

I never used to know about them until we had kids....

I didn't know about them until I read this thread...
The only kid I ever dealt with, other than professionally, was 16 when I married her mother and it wasn't easy.
I usually get on very well with other people's kids and they seem to like me - I'm like like a good indulgent uncle I guess..

Mrs smac went to do the christmas shopping as usual, all the kids are taken care of - provided their tastes don't change by then!

What was a little annoying is the limit on what can be put on christmas lay-by this year. Not everything 'qualifies' it would seem and some presents are on standard lay-by meaning we need to find some hiding spots in 8 weeks time.

Where did Mrs Smaccer go ?

K-Mart had the best deal, in which you didn't physically need the item to put it on lay-bye. If it was marked with a Christmas Tree in the catalogue you just showed them in the brochure what you wanted and they processed it from there...easy !!

I have no idea where, jabber. I'm amazed I paid enough attention to get that much out of the conversation. Shopping isn't really my thing!

You'll have to find a new spot for your dvd collection.

I understand, but the important bit is choosing toys you'll have just as much fun with as the kids....

I do that with smac jr's toys, the girls toys I really couldn't give a figs what they get. It'll be pink in colour, that's all I know.

Smac jr generally asks for sporting equipment, which is fine by me!
