I think the first direct debit payments went out yesterday and the first cheques will be arriving in the mail today but I'm not sure what order they are doing it in.
Apparently it is going to take until May 16th for all of the payments to be rolled out so I wouldn't be holding you breath Johnno!!

And the silly buggars have gone and done it twice now....
What should I do.....
Everyone says

What letter does her surname start with brock ?
I was told by the tax office it was being done alphabetically but he wasn't 100% sure.

Nothing to anyone in this house yet

I too was wondering how they are 'choosing' thier order.
If it's alphabetically then this house is in for a long wait

Starts with M.
My surname starts with F so I don't think it's ordered alphabetically.

I was hoping they might go in some kind of 'when your tax return was done'
As we all did ours in July !!

Not via postcodes. The ATO is working in consultation with Australia Post to make sure there is an even distribution each day.

What about the payments that are being direct debited?

Nothing consistent about them either. If you have an accountant do your tax they may be able to tell you if the tax office has processed your payment and the approx day it will be processed by the banks (the effective date). Otherwise it is a waiting game.
The ATO have a schedule but for security reasons arent providing this to anyone external.
