Listening to MMM covering the Collingwood v Essendon game they said there's been an earthquake in South Melbourne...apparently it was 4.6 and felt over in Mildura (sp?).
Hope all our Melbourne based forumites are ok

haha...unlike the word 'Earthqake'
Yeh the MMM guys mentioned it as soon as they felt it. I was waiting on trial game scores by email form someone in south Melbourne. They're fine but apparently the house got a fair shaking.

Is there more than one Mildura perhaps???
It was definitely Mildura cos as soon as they said it I thought 'isn't that where BDP used to live?'.
It was only minutes after it happened so maybe they got the place wrong or someone was messing with them.
Even though it doesn't seem to have caused much damage I feel for the bushfire victims...they don't need a fright like that on top of what they've been through.

Thanks smithy...like I said I just repeated what they said at the time. I'm guessing that as I can't see the name Mildura on there then it's nowhere near .

Possibly another place I'd presume, because according to the ruler tool on Google Earth, Mildura is 563ks from the epicentre.
The Docklands Stadium is 91ks away.

We were having dinner outside on Fitzroy Street in St Kilda and didn't feel or hear a thing.

Shook the house a bit for us in Melbourne east. Epicentre, according to radio this morning, was supposed to in melbourne's outer south eastern suburbs.
Very very mild though got the kids talking.

My house in the Dandenong Ranges shook, and for a moment I thought one of the huge Mountain Ash outside had fallen on it.
