I was listening to the radio last week and some people were talking about a service that existed that you registered with (for a fee) then if a fire is reported to start in your area they rang/sms you.
Does anyone know the name contact details of this service?
I have not been able to find it easily through Yellow pages or Google.

This is a link to the CFS website.

Where you can recieve a text message once a media notification is made.

I think it's the same kind of thing you're talking about O:)

Typical government web site - written Internet Explorer specific and does not render properly in Opera! [It will probably work in Firefox.]

Thanks for that everyone the site works for me I will see if this helps, although this is not the one I was after at least it is free. :D I just hope it is timely, I have found that I seem to know more and earlier, about what is happening in the hills in my office in town than their web site most of the time. :(

Yes I checked later too. Firefox drops into IE emulation mode when necessary, compromising security just a little to do so.
In Opera the selection menu - black print on grey background - floated over the other text and could not be moved out of the way.
