I once worked in a place and was told by the bosses that a very important person was coming with interest to purchase the business... us girls were told to get dressed up to 'the nines' so to speak..... it turned out to be Allan Scott and I remember well.... I was only 17 and the receptionist of the company at the time.... I was so scared

He was a very 'straight' man from what I remember with my 5 minute brief with him !!

A man who meant what he said and said what he means. As Booney said he took no carp(sorry couldn't resist) or crap from anyone.

I've heard some ripper stories from people in the tv and paper media in the South East.
People would get summonsed to his office and phone and they would comply post haste.
Many journos and editors have been sacked, and occasionally reinstated, pretty quickly as a result of some perceived indiscretion, editorial or otherwise.
I'm not sure if he's someone people should use as a role model but he certainly was a character.

A very Stubborn man.
His way or the Highway.
Couldn't see himself wrong.
A Pity.
RIP "Great Man"

One day he sacked two blokes at his transport yard, only to find out later they were there to repair his phone that still wasn't working, they had just arrived to fix it before he sacked tehm.

For the record... "He was

My grandmother always speaks very highly of him, having lived in Nangwarry for several years when she first came to Australia.

Well anything I've ever known of the bloke I won't shed a tear. Absolute prick of a man. I've got family in Mount Gambier and he turned their paper into a far-right joke used to air all his personal grievances.

You don't have to join in the chorus Goz but perhaps that comment is a bit inappropriate at this time.

What is the actual time period we must allow to elapse before we can be critical of the dead?

Without saying anything about any specific person, an acquaintance of mine back in the mid 1990s, who had recently resigned an executive post in the transport industry, told me that in the earlier days a business in that industry was built behind trucks with a baseball bat, but in more recent years money was wielded instead.

like that episode of south park when it had officially been a certain amount of time since aids had been found so it was funny or something
