I grabbed the remainder of what was there, I had never had pastrami previously, gee I've been missing out all these years.

Pastrami is heaven.

Pastrami and mustard sambo’s are the go

With a vintage cheddar slice and lengthway sliced pickles.

Picked up some more last night at $8 per kilo.

Fresh bread, pastrami, sweet mustard pickles and cheese...................for a moment there I felt like I was Andy Dufresne listening to "Le Nozze di Figaro".

He’s an Angler’s Inn type operator then over to the Corny before sampling the craft beers at Bond Street.

Great place. We have a holiday house up that way.

The Bond Store has been a great addition to the town IMO.

Check out the schnitzels at the Prince Edward or the Weeroona if you have time.

This could've been my post, I'm just lacking time and I'm two mates short.

You're in God's country over there mate, what is there not to love about Yorke's? The food, the pubs, the fishing, the people, the bakeries...........I just don't know where to stop.

I seem to find the Fleurieu too cold for my liking as nice as it is, anywhere on the YP is my first choice.

I am very lucky, every week I see someone on here saying they are going to Pt Hughes or Wallaroo and how great it’s is well that’s me every week. Other then the wind it’s perfect place to live. Camping at the gap, staying a black point or having tea at Pt Vincent on the way home from football it’s great place.

The bakery in Wallaroo is THE major let down of the town IMO. They shut at lunch time on a Saturday and aren't open on a Sunday. (update - google tells me it's not open on Saturday)???

Wow, that is insane, a city slicker such as myself struggles to pass through a town without stopping in and trying a peppered steak pie.

Ardrossan was a let down, Yorketown is winning the golden tray award so far.

Bond Street is my favourite place for a feed and Bevvie, I haven't had a bad meal from the Alehouse either and the Vetnor is a brilliant place to spend a Saturday afternoon having a bet and a beer, Vincent in general is an absolute picturesque town.

Totally agree with the Ardrossan bakery - average at best. Both pubs there are shit too.

My father grew up in the Moonta Mines area and we spent a lot of holiday time up there when I was a kid. His sister married a Wallaroo man and lived there. I recall net fishing with my cousins at Pt Hughes in my early teens.

(We are likely to be at Pt Vincent over Easter - free accommodation available.)

The owner is my best mate and he cannot get staff to work weekends. He tried opening during January and the staff just keep letting him down and he would have to end up working 7 days a week. I don’t blame him not wanting to work 7 days a week with a young family. It’s still disappointing because it’s a awesome bakery.

Has he tried closing on a Monday or Tuesday to free up a day?

Either way I'll make sure I swing by and make a stop whenever I'm up there, I have good friends that live in Tickera that I often see to go kill some brain cells. It's not that far out the way.
