Running on a tight budget atm and work has been getting me down a bit so the missus suggested we stop in at the pub yesterday arvo as long as we kept to me having 3 beers, her 2 CC's and $20 for the punt.

We have a little format we follow with the trotters and I like to box numbers 1,2 & 4 on the dishlickers.

Cut a long story short, we walked out over $300 up in no time, she gets a new dress for a work show next week, I get some pub money for the weekend and the kids get a little something too.

Nice one. Always good to have fun with someone else's money.

Me, I'm as thirsty as **** right now and can't wait to get to the local later and have a few pints.

On that, I drove past a pub last night around 9 o'clock, looked like @Wedgie was just downing a pint and heading back to the bar to get another.

We've been doing the same, our wine rack was copping a hammering and our CC maker is very unwell so that makes it easier.

That's it mate, gives us extra spondoola to go back this afternoon and try for a couple of meat trays.

This budgeting thing is a pain in the arse but will be worth it in the long run, we both get a bit blase with spending.

Sounds right, went to the Hope Inn to watch the soccer, thought I better make an appearance seeing as I'm a member of the Red Army. Left the missus at home, even though she's a pom she hates soccer.
You could have seen me if you drove past between 1pm and 4pm too.

When your program produces results that don't quite make sense ... so you spend 24 hours tracking down the bug to a single effing line in a data simulation routine, apply the obvious fix, run the program and have perfect plots appear on your screen.

Oh, YES.

Fate can not harm me today. I'm calling a POETS day - off to the pub Right Now.
