Christ, a 90 year old on the road, do us a favour Dogger and get him off the bloody road, it'll do the health of the rest of the population a favour.

An old mate of mine was tickled pink when his 76 year old mother was picked up driving her Mercedes across the Nullarbor from the family farm at Cleve [or Kleve?] at 160kph.

I also met a guy in his 80s, from Horsham, who was suspended from driving for life by the local magistrate the third time he got picked up speeding in one year, on the grounds that he was no longer fit to drive a high powered turbocharged vehicle. He went straight out and took flying lessons and obtained his private pilot's licence within the year, just to prove the point.

He was, and so was his brother, but the parents were farmers, first at Cleve and later at Mundulla.

I remember that story, I can remeber my old man showing me a article in the Sunday Mail years ago about that incident, she was living at Cleve when we were, and when she made the papers we were living in the SE.

Unfortunately the most dangerous people I see on the road are between 18 and 30 usually in rice burners and tricked up old Fords and Holden rust buckets. They are impatient, tailgaters, accelerating towards red lights, constant unnecessary lane changing together with an incredible confidence in a dubious driving ability. If the driving age was lifted to 30, we would probably eliminate the majority of fatalities. Older people tend to know their limitations and avoid busy times, night and certain roads. Dogger good on your Dad, if your Dad is fit and well I hope he keeps his licence for many years to come.

Mick there are people who can drive & people who can't- age makes no difference, but does allow for maturity (ie I take less risks now than when younger, as would most people)

Can't argue with that
