I didn't hear this when he said it, but David Hookes related this story at a sports night.

Apparently KG & Hookesy were interviewing 36ers captain Mark Davis. KG asked him if he liked living in Adelaide. Davis said it was good, although he doesn't see many "brothers" in Adelaide.

Then KG blurts out, "Yes, that would be hard not being able to see your family".

There was a brief silence, followed by laughter from Davis & Hookes. Good old naive KG

And who will ever forget his interview with Percy Fender. Talk about the blind leading the blind. Classic

I can't recall what was said as it was a long time ago, but after the Bodyline mini-series was screened on TV, they decided it would be a good idea to contact Percy Fender who was quite a character at the time.

However, it had been over 60 years since Bodyline, and poor old Percy was about 90 years old, and rather senile. He couldn't understand KG, and KG couldn't understand Percy, and it was one of the funniest moments in radio history.

It was similar to the 12th man's link up between Bill Lawry and Peter Pollock

Maybe we should contact 5AA and ask if they could play it again.
