Quiz night take 2

Postby Footy Chick » Tue Jul 22, 2008 5:11 pm

Ok kiddies

I've still got all this stuff lying around that I want to get out of my house, so Im going to have another dig at the quiz night thing.

It would be good if we can get as many tables as possible, however this time I'll be holding it whether we have 7 tables or 17 tables. It should be a good night regardless :D

Tickets sales will still go towards the running of the site and the auction items towards the McGuinness McDermott Foundation, both very good causes

Place your vote so I can get an idea on interest. Or if you can think of a better date, please let me know

Cheers

I'd hold it sometime outside of football season.

My weekends are already chockers with various obligations and commitments. Outside of footy season there is one less "commitment" to be met so I'd be better able to slip the leash.

I favour the Friday night be4 the AFL GF, however, I'm sure Wedgie's going to watch the Cats in Melbourne. 8) 8)

I think it's better not on a night before either GF. An earlier final, maybe.

Melbourne Cup Night? :partyman:  Just kidding.

Probably fair to assume that any fans of grand final participants may well be ruled out of a Friday night pre-GF gig ... Need to also be careful to avoid the festive season aswell ... What about the last weekend in October? (closed eyes and pointed to Calendar)

I think it would be fitting either the Friday before or Friday after the SANFL GF - if it were before it would be a great lead-up to the big day IMO

I agree, especially as there's no Magarey on the Thursday too.
Being on the Friday it still leaves 2 sleeps till the GF too.

Haven't they had a big pre-SANFL GF show at Heaven/HQ or the like in recent years? Do the club's participating in the GF's run any pre-match shows of their own? (lol goes to show how long it's been since we've been near one :( )

I don't mind the thought of Friday night AFTER the SANFL GF ... All the ammo's would be done and dusted too and it could be our very own version of "SAFOOTY MAD FRIDAY!" :D

Nah, there was a Channel 31 show at HQ a couple of years ago but that was a one off.
Being apart of one of the clubs involved in the GF last year I can tell you that our club didn't have any show on the Friday except for the final training session which finished early on.

I'd think the Friday after that a lot of people will be into the start of their cricket seasons and maybe even B&Fs.

Ok, well that sounds pretty groovy then ... Whichever date you settle on Chicky just give me as much notice as possible and then I'll try to help out in any way I can.

Ah nuts...my post from yesterday disappeared

Think I said something like...obviously there's no point in me voting but if there's anything I can do to help out just give me a shout.

Also that it would be great if each teams supporters put together a table and even better if the officials/players of each team got involved and had a table per team too.

Or something like that

JAS

We'll need about 100 footballs shaped from Napkins (Sherrins btw, none of this Burley crap), could you have them to Chicky by Mid-August please?
