OVERSEAS TRAVEL.....cities/countries visited............

Postby GWW » Tue Mar 28, 2006 1:31 am

I am by no means a regular jet setter but i was lucky enough to travel overseas a couple of years ago when i went on a Contiki tour around Europe.

Place i visited:

- Netherlands (Amsterdam - a freaky city)

- Italy (Rome, Florence - my favourite overseas city, and Venice)

- Germany (Munich)

- France (Paris)

- Lucerne (Switzerland)

- London

What overseas countries/cities have other people been to?

Places My Plane Landed to Refuel

Postby therisingblues » Wed Mar 29, 2006 12:50 am

USA (SanFrancisco, Welcome to the land of fat people! Unbelievable! At last I feel at home!-twice)
Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur-three times)
Italy (Rome-twice)
Singapore (Singapore, Changi Airport, named after the POW camp James Clavell's "King Rat" is based on. I highly recommend this airport, it is like a miniature town and has great food, real beaut showers, gyms, massage, movie theaters and they recently built a second airport next door which is connected by a "sky-train" of some sort-four times)
Japan (Osaka, Kansai airport similar to Changi but looks sort of space age, "sky trains" run all over the place-twice)
Japan (Tokyo, busy place-twice)
Melbourne (Lost count)
Brisbane (Once)

Most interesting place I've been to is Albania - went for a traditional family wedding (brother in law from Oz marrying a local). Was fantastic. Stunning beaches, scenery.

That however could be superceded by the Ponderosa this Saturday night...
