Knowledgeable salespeople

Got to love it when people have no idea about their products or markets.

I emailed an ebay seller, asking for postage insurance costs for an item to be sent to Adelaide (he is in Melbourne).

The reply came, informing me that they don't post outside of Australia  . I checked the AdelaideNow website and can't see anything about South Australia seceding from the Federation, so I am guessing he has no idea...

Yep, let him know where in the Australia he could find Adelaide. No reply as yet (I wasn't even sarcastic in my reply, hope he's not reading these forums...).

 No, but I get where you are coming from...

Sadly, the saga ends here as the latest email was an apology and the correct information was supplied. Was hoping he would stuff up again to give us something else to laugh at!

A mate of mine went to Metro Holden to buy a new car. He was interested in a Barina or an Astra, and the sales person tried to tell him that they were made at holdens Elizabeth Factory, and they might take a while with his order because they were to busy with the Commodore export orders. There were red faces all round when my mate told her that was Bullsh1t because we both work there and only make the Commodore variety.

I had a guy ring on the phone with some con trying to sell holiday rubbish that you could stay at hotels around Australia that cost you next to nothing as long as you gave then $119. I asked him for the hotels names in Cairns and Darwin. He went on to tell me they have over 30 hotels for Cairns as Cairns was in NSW. I asked him where he was and he told me NSW. I didn't know NSW was in India. How stupid do they think we are.

yes yes yes

ive had 2 of these calls

one was an indian woman and i had her on the phone for almost an hour and was talking about the india v england test series, that call was in the afternoon and was in the mood to drag it out

had another one early one evening, COULD NOT understand a WORD he said, wasnt the best english, i asked to speak to white caucasian, got his supervisor. gives me the whole crap it $110 for 10 nights, min 3.5 star accommodation

sounds ok, am going on holiday and hadnt booked accommodation. I too asked for hotels/motels where im going and they couldnt tell me, they gave me other areas around it.

apparently you pay by credit card, to which i said i pay everything cash.......

you get the book and its 14 days i believe and you can return it for a full refund. i offered him to send the book with his contact details inside it, so when i received the book and had read it i would contact him to let him know of my decision.................he didnt like that idea.

the office is in sydney, but the callers are from INDIA, no doubt, you can tell by the dodgy phone lines

its always good to play along with these people, as they are normally commission and have to make so many calls per hour, so the longer you drag it out the worse for them!!!!

If you search the company on the internet via google you can see ASIC is looking into them at the moment plus the no call register. Then when he called back I told him I rang one of the hotels and they would only offer the pay for one night get one free as per on the companys real site with the expensive membership, he told me I was dumb and why the hell did I ring them. I asked him why he rang me back as I am on the no call list and that I am sure they would like his real name as Sunny was not his name at all.

Yes I did talk to him for about 30 mins as I too know that they need to make quick sales and as the call as from India I want the company to have the long phones to Aus so they go broke and the work comes back to Australia.

The poor guy didn't like that I had googled the company and the results I got instead of going straight to his website.

Bad luck I say isn't that what the internet is for...

Not always the case mate If u get anyone from Telstra call u, dont drag it out, they get targets and incentives based on sales per contacts. the longer u talk the easier it is to reach their targets! Dont just hang up without responding either they claim it as a "no contact".
get their hopes up and say u want new phones, new services, bigpond setup and foxtel and hear them crumble when u say cant be bothered right now, seeya!
I should know i used to work there in a less parasitic role! haha

last year sometime, some bloke rang up from you know where

he had all my g/f's details about the phone and was going to change it over to a new plan and said he was getting the supervisor

supervisor gets on the phone........blah blah blah giving the spiel about new call rates etc but they never tell you that you are changing companies!!!!!!!!!!

im sure there may have been a few people out there who changed unwittingly
