Do you mean the show on Tuesday or Wednesday (I think) when he was banging on about having a new job but that it would be inappropriate to go into details (when asked what the job is) and that he is a double-blue nut but that saying so was probably inappropriate as well

Oh yeh and I think he tried to get a rise out of Crazy Joe who was on a couple of calls later but failed miserabley (mainly due to Joe being just a little bit more hyper than usual)...SP might try to flame on air but will never be as good at p*ssing the listeners off as Santo

heehee...if one of the skills Australia was desperate for was an ex-military expert in packing boxes (and I mean expert I done courses and everyfink  ) and preparing to invade neighbouring states then I'd be on the next plane  Guess I'll just wait for that lottery win.

Yes I confess to being a sad 5aa adict now. Only started listening to get some extra footy news from KG and Thingy but then got hooked on the other shows, Sean Perry's is probably my favourite now. We don't seem to get anything like it here...cracking mix of people phoning in...some really funny, some bloody annoying, some really interesting and some you wouldn't want to meet unless they were heavily sedated

I am sure you have answered this before JAS, but why is it that you have so much interest in little old Adelaide and the SANFL and Norwood?

No great secret...just not terribley exciting so I'l try and keep it short(ish)

Always had a few tenous links to Aus. Dad spent several years living and working in NSW/Vic border area in the 50's and wanted to return with us for good in the 70's but mum said no. One of my best mates married an Aussie and they and my goddaughter live near Brisbane and my step-mothers brother lives in Melbourne.

I got a liking for online rpg's a few years ago and through that got chatting to some Aussies. We mostly talked sports...me rugby union and them footy and cricket. I liked the sound of the footy and remembered watching it on tv with dad as a kid on the rare occasions it got shown. One of them suggested that I should take a look at the Redlegs website and forum etc to learn more about it.

Eventually I was persuaded to join the forum and everyone, without exception, has been incredibly tolerant and patient as I try to learn more about the game. Same applies here when I joined SAFooty during the 'Great Server Crash'. Wasn't always easy to understand what was going on when I only got to hear and not see games so they put up with lots of questions...much better now I have Redlegstv (plug  ) Listening to the comentaries on RPH and LifeFM I got totally hooked and signed up as a Redleg.

I know that not having grown up supporting a team I'll never have the same sense of history etc (a bit like living here for 17yrs but always being an incomer) so I'll always be a 'work in pogress' but I is learnin'. But then no matter how hard BDP tries  I'll never jump ship...never have, never will (sorry boys you're stuck with me now)...and why would I when they wear the same colours as my beloved Munster :D

Haha...told you it wasn't exciting. If you (or anyone else) wants to know anything else feel free to ask :D

Might as well take the opportunity to say thanks to the guys and gals on the Redlegs forum and on here that I've spoken to and interrogated both in private and in public for their tolerance and patience and willingness to answer even the most basic footy questions =D>

Regards
JAS

Cheers for that...the 'road trip' plans are already well underway...fund is around the halfway mark so hopefully I'll be supping a few Pale Ales at Coopers in a year or two.

I'm afraid that's a no at the moment. I did have a couple of people offer to copy *cough* a few games onto dvd but I'm not sure if I'd be able to play them as we are Region 2 and I think you guys are Region 4 so I'd hate for anyone to go to all that trouble only to find I couldn't watch them. But thank you heaps for the offer and if I can ever work out the Region thing (asking in a TV shop was useless) I'll prossibly take you up on it.

In the mean time I wouldn't complain if someone wanted to sneak into all the ovals and discretely install webcams

JAS

well, they're already cough copied, and work cough pays for postage. Just sing out. You should watch Brian Adamson's work in the 78 GF. You'll never believe a man that skinny can actually get out on the park, and then dominate a big game against an unbackable favourite.

i'm glad you didn't say 1975,1982 or 1950 for that matter but that is unfair to pull out a sturt grand final when the title is 'sturtpeter' then on the other hand i wonder what sp thinks of des foster

I'll own up   the choice of GF was very very very deliberate.

I'm sure I've said this before on the site. The 78 Sturt side was 6 goals better than the second best team that year (which wasn't us), but I'm not handing that title back.

Well that's hardly fair now is it? From what I've been able to tell after reading comments on here you guys are allowed to perv any woman, anywhere, at anytime but you're saying that I can't travel halfway round the world and do a little 'window shopping' while I'm there even though I'm probably older than their mothers
