My day at the Golf....

After a solid night supporting the cricket club sponsor on Saturday night,I was woken, rudly at first by the old man, only to realise his intentions were all good,as he had a double pass to the Jacobs Creek at Royal Adelaide, quite handily situated 5 minutes from home.

The good wife has a great idea,"You can take the little bloke.".Not so little at 9 years old and with a challenging physique like his Dad,we hit the road and leg it down to the gate, getting in to watch the group at 11:00 tee off.

Still reeling from the night before,I suggest to mini-me,a Hot Dog might go down well,"Yup" he says,so with the lager tent cunningly positioned next to the Hot Dog's I feel the lure and fall into one.Hair-of-the-dog.

2 hours later,Im 5 cans the better, still most respectable, and the little bloke cries foul,"Im ready to go".
"But Dad's just got a can.....,ok,lets go".Ring the wife to come and get us,10 minutes later,Im home and on the phone to mate,"Want to go down the golf mate?" "Sure",he says,"Ill come and get you".Beautiful.

As I quickly direct him to the nearest tent inside the gate,I find the back of my pass has an outstanding offer of buy 1 drink get 1 for free! Beautiful. At $5 for a VB,(yuuuck,at least it was in ice, still yuck),I was more than happy to get 1 for nothing.

From here on in things are a bit sketchy,I know there was a play-off,I saw it(?),and I know I had a roast for tea,the Mrs wasnt too upset, the little bloke happy and I've woken up for a Monday with a VB headache to die with, not for.

If you ever get a chance,go to the Golf.

Booney getting on the turps and forgetting 5hite is par for the course, let's hope he didn't show a birdie his eagle or there might be an albatross around his neck when attempts to putt out on the 19th hole.

regards,

REB
