Imagine if 10 thousand people were like you and wanted to pay for them on Friday and then didn't collect them.
They've moved to phone sales from ticket boxes to avoid people having to physically line up which I think is smart.
There's no excuse to not having a credit card these days as people used to complain they didn't want credit but mine doesn't let me go into credit.
Visa transactions cost me nothing too.

Agreed.
I'm only a struggling uni student, but getting a debit card enables me to pay my internet bills, as well as pay off my engagement ring at the jewellers. The beauty of it is that you can only charge money that you physically have in your account.

get a visa card linked to your bank account more commonly known as a debit card where you must credit your account before you can debit money from it. this way the banks can't bend you over with ridiculous interest and you still get the freedoms of using the visa/mastercard/whatever network.
jeez I thought Glenelg fans were more educated than this![]()

ok, i can understand that but when ordering you give a barcode number which i presume has your details on it, so if you order/buy a ticket & you do not pick it up, you should be made to pay for it anyway (put it in fine print) that the obligation of ordering is a contract to pay etc etc
anyway not getting the tickets saves me on airfares etc

"the cards are electronically approved and therefore can't bounce like cheques"
I'm sorry to tell you that this isn't correct. You need to check with your Merchant Facility supplier but the 2 card Schemes (Mastercard, Visa) allow for card holders (your customers) to dispute and chargeback to you any transaction up to 6 months after it has been processed.
When you swipe the card through your EFTPOS machine or receive phone authorisation, you are only receiving verification that the card is valid and there are sufficient funds in the customers account to cover the transaction. It does not cover you if the card has been stolen or the card details are being used fraudulently. If the cardholder checks their statement and sees a transaction that they claim they did not process they can chargeback the transaction and you as the merchant wear the debt.
If you are dealing face to face with customers you can be reasonably confident the transaction will be ok. If you have any doubt eg the signature doesn't look ok, or a male is using a card in a female's name, ask for id.
If you have customers dealing with you by mail or telephone you are really at risk. You need to be absolutley sure the person you are dealing with is the owner of the card. You need to take the same precautions as you would with someone that is trying to pay by cheque.
As I said, get in contact with your facility provider. They should be able to send you details on fraud prevention and what your liabilities are. It's a growing problem.
