Go figure that one...
You heartless SOB
I think MP was saying his ex was complaining about him paying his child support, not complaining for having to pay for it.

I'm hearing you PG. I have just completed my Bachelor Degree last year having commenced as a 30 year-old. To study full time I needed Austudy payments. A combined Austudy + Rent assistance provided $440 per fortnight (assuming I did not work). As a result I had to work part-time as that figure wouldn't meet rent, bills etc. That was fine with me as I did not want to be a 'drain' on the Govt/society. Problem is, if you do the 'right' thing and get extra work whenever possible (such as holidays, summer etc) Centrelink would end up penalising me. Not having a whinge as I am very grateful for Centrelink, but I found it a bit strange that I was constantly being 'punished' for working!

Trev, it's pretty common. John Howard's Job Network system effectively privatising the unemployed aside from being a disgrace is an absolute rort for all the scumbag companies involved in it. They get paid s__tloads to put people into placements, real or imagined. If anyone ever gets a job themselves without any involvement from them if they hear about it they put it down that they found it for you and get the kickbacks. You wouldn't believe the amount of money these joints turnover as aside from the big kickbacks they get allocated thousands of dollars by the government to spend on each and every job seeker but funnily enough very few ever tell the job seeker that, thank you very much.
I always get a chuckle about people losing their minds over all those supposed "dole bludgers" all 5% of the population (we're in full employment folks) when the rorts involving the big bucks are happening right in plain sight.

No idea. The club appears to have sold their Membership database to a telemarketing company. The spiel starts off with the telemarketer doing some small talk about looking forward to the new season. They then start selling a chance to go into a draw to win $30 000, and because sales have been slow they'll throw in a free gift, and all the club asks for is a $200 'donation'. When you say you don't have the money,it gets desperate as they ask if you rope your family and friends in to chip in for a ticket.
The club has confirmed it's a legitimate, but it does look sus when the telemarketers call from a mobile.
From what I've gathered, it's a 1000 ticket raffle, which the club has been trying to sell since August, which is being sold as a donation. Why a professional company like the Adelaide Football Club needs donations is beyond me.

Yes, this, and also for me, The Tour Down Under in general, I really could care less about it.
