FFS people, 10 out of 10 for the right intentions, but minus several hundred for good thinking. You're more of a hazard than the buffoons who persist in driving while they yak on their phones.

Don't blame them blame the law makers......I know what I'd rather do pull over and make people aware of whats in front of them compared to paying a $250+ fine...

I know what I'd rather do too: turn into the nearest side street and then pull over before answering the phone. The law is satisfied and I'm not creating a traffic hazard. Too hard for some, though.

Pseudo wrote:This morning's peeve is twofold.
1. People who pay for their tickets with credit cards at Adelaide station. All too often I attempt to buy a multitrip ticket in between changing trains at Adelaide, only to get stuck in a queue of 4 or 5 people, most of whom flip out a square of plastic when they get to the head of the queue, thereby slowing the queue to a crawl. The nuisance is compounded by the knowledge that my train leaves in a matter of minutes.
The peeve has been mentioned before on this thread, but it bears mentioning again because it leads directly to the second - and today, the greater - peeve:
2. Thick-as-two-short-planks TransAdelaide staff. On finally reaching the head of the queue this morning I made the comment "credit cards ought to be banned here mate". The drone behind the counter replied, in haughty voice, that there were two windows open so I didn't have to wait. FFS you cretin, unless one of the windows is cash-only that does NOT solve the problem. How do I tell, prior to joining either queue, which is the one with the most credit card junkies? Am I supposed to stand in one queue until the bloke in front of me pulls out his AmEx, and then join the end of the other queue, jumping back when the bloke in THAT queue goes for his Visa? Not to mention that oftentimes only one queue is open when I purchase my ticket. I said as much, and the bloke basically lied to me in return, claiming that there are always 2 windows open at that time of day.
Well, it's clear why that bloke is the one selling train tickets for a living, and not me....
Rant over. Grumpy today. Need caffeine.
