because in soccer you dont have 25 meter of scoring zone, you cant score from 50m away often, you dont score by kicking it 4 million miles in the air, you dont get a point for missing but hey at least you tried and you actually have a player specialised in stopping you from scoring.

and yes i do go on soccer forums, i love both sports and can see the different skill sets in both. you say about soccer players not being able to kick a ball 50m, try curling a soccer ball around a 5 man wall, pass the keeper and into the corner of a goal which has height and width restrictions. Get a soccer ball boot it as high as you can in the air, then try and control it with your feet not letting the ball go further than half a metre away. Try the same and then trying hitting a target 20m away with your head.

I have seen basketball games with bigger scores than AFL games. Does that mean basketballers are more skillfull because they score more than footballers?

And these happen how many times in a whole round of EPL?

Ofcourse you are going to have basketball games that score higher then a AFL game smaller playing area and you only have 24 seconds to shoot the ball. try kicking a goal from the boundary 15-20mtrs away from goals where you can only see part of the goals, and letting it bounce in and not knowing which way it will go. Try jumping up a guys back and steady yourself to take a mark. trya kicking a ball 80mtrs from goals to give your team a win. No epl player would be able to do any of those, yours, you would be able to find a afl player that would be able to do what you said. Do remember some afl players do play gaelic football so they are use to and have skills to play with a round ball.
We're on this journey together, One Heart, One Club and they will Never Ever Tear Us Apart.

At elite level football is way more skill full then soccer, for starters its harder to kick a football then a round ball you don't have to bounce a soccer ball, and you don't have the chance to get absolutely cleaned up. The two boys coming from nrl to the afl where training for over a year so it wasn't like they stepped over and started playing the same day. It also didn't matter if they weren't that good because they where used as marketing dummies to entice people of from nrl to afl. Players that come over from Basketball usually have played some football before. there is also a lot similar aspects of being a centre in basketball and a ruck man in football. If all of these elite soccer players have had to have a ball around them since they where no wonder why they kick and scream at nothing, because they have had a very boring life.

The youngest McSpaz and the things he says. He wanted a banana so he came up to me and said, 'Mum, the moon, peeze?' I gave him a banana and he said 'Ay-ta' (we always told him to 'say ta' when he received something, and he thinks it's one word) and then held the banana up and shouted 'Ohhhh, the MOON!' :D
Hey Goose, ya big stud! Take me to bed or lose me for ever.

I prefer footy 100 times for than soccer but I agree that soccer is he most skillful. I was always a pretty good athlete and could always walk into all sports and be pretty good at them including starting footy when I was 25. Sports included cricket, lacrosse, baseball, basketball, rugby, basically anything at PE but when I tried to play soccer I was bloody hopeless, ball would go sideways off my boot when I tried to smash it, dudes would dance around me while dribbling the ball, I was hopeless even though Id watched the game for 10+ years. Soccer is easily the most difficult sport to step into because of the skill level even if it is as boring as batshit.

Well said Wedgie... to argue AFL is more skillful is a tad off the mark... to say its boring is a personal choice and some people don't have the patience to sit and watch the game and learn to appreciate it. I had the same opinion of the game prior to getting a season ticket and seeing the EPL live every week - atmosphere at the game is 10x better than any AFL game I've been too. Many of the rivalries are many times stronger than any AFL rivalries... time + religion has played a large part in this...

Similar arguement with Test cricket - many find that boring and rather ODI.
