Each to their own indeed but Kickinit doesn't believe in that concept and if you look back and I think you will find he had a go at whufc rating the start of the EPL... just bit of his own back I guess

Yes you didn't have the right to complain and want something for free when you could of paid for it. I have played and watched soccer. Because Its the most watched and played sport in the world does it make it the greatest game ever? If you want to watch something for 90 and nothing happens except guys passing the ball to each other then lay on the ground crying for nothing then you need to get out more

Soccer is easy, people try and make it more complicated then it is.

You cant score when the ball is in your defensive half....

Kickint, have you ever tried to control a soccer ball that comes down from the same height if not higher than a football kick with your feet, or try to header it to an exact player. Much more difficult than marking a football.

Also you say no one is trying to take you out. Like i said run full pelt up to mate with football boots on and kick him as hard as you can in his ankle making contact with your studs. If his still standing he must be superman.

How often have you tried and scoring in a soccer goal with a 6ft goal keeper protecting them, remembering there is no score just for effort. AFL has the largest scoring area out of any foot based sports in the world.

Both sports require a totally different skillset to say soccer is not skillful is one of the most off target posts on this site and thats saying alot.

The reason there is so much crowd trouble in football (not counting copy cat aussie fans) is alot of clubs are well over 100 years old, were created on religious beliefs, or were set up as 'class' clubs, blue collar workers, vs white collar etc.

They have real rivalry and history unlike the awesome Q clash!

yeah cause AFL clubs dont pass the ball backwards and sidewards LOL!

no afl clubs pass the ball around the 50m arc trying to work the ball inside 50 do they.

Obviously sport is choice and its great to have that choice but i laugh at all the AFL fans and there sterotypes about soccer which all happen in modern day AFL football, faking, time wasting, passing backwards, low scoring games, draws etc etc,

Kicking sideways is often used as the beginning of an attacking play. I think you will find teams that kick backwards never win anything.

AFL is always going to have a highlight or two where soccer may not.

To be fair, theres minimal draws in AFL, whereas the EPL has multiple draws every round. And even though we have a larger goal to aim for, we also have a lot more ground to cover to get there.

Both are different sports, and I actually do enjoy watching soccer, playing soccer, playing FIFA and also Football Manager. But not nearly as much as I love Aussie Rules. Everybodies different though...

In many respects the AFL has taken a lot of aspects of soccer and pu tthere own spin on it. ie creating space, importance of retaining possession, defensive zoning

If soccer is so skillful then why can't they score a goal in 90 minutes of play? If you love soccer that much then why don't you go to a soccer forum and stay of a football forum. If you got all the players from the epl and got them to try and kick a goal from 50mtrs, pass the ball to some one 50mtrs away and put it on there chest and get them to take a mark in a pack how many players do you recon would be able to do it.

The problem in Soccer is that the attack after the defensive move so rarely comes to anything but one pass and another defensive move..
I used to enjoy playing Soccer (as Goalie) but it bores me totally to watch.

because in soccer you dont have 25 meter of scoring zone, you cant score from 50m away often, you dont score by kicking it 4 million miles in the air, you dont get a point for missing but hey at least you tried and you actually have a player specialised in stopping you from scoring.

and yes i do go on soccer forums, i love both sports and can see the different skill sets in both. you say about soccer players not being able to kick a ball 50m, try curling a soccer ball around a 5 man wall, pass the keeper and into the corner of a goal which has height and width restrictions. Get a soccer ball boot it as high as you can in the air, then try and control it with your feet not letting the ball go further than half a metre away. Try the same and then trying hitting a target 20m away with your head.

I have seen basketball games with bigger scores than AFL games. Does that mean basketballers are more skillfull because they score more than footballers?

Searching for a kids' bookshelf and finding this little beauty for $35: http://www.childrens-table-and-chairs.c ... _Shelf.php

As a bonus, it's in Woodville-West Torrens colours. :D This is payback for Mr McSpaz buying the kids Norwood jumpers.

What i also love about soccer is you could watch a tape of a game during the 70's and apart from fitness levels the game is still the same as what will be played this weekend.

Watch an AFL game from the 90's and then watch this weekends matches and you ARE watching a DIFFERENT SPORT.

The football kids play on a saturday and sunday morning is only the same sport as the AFL by name. 2 completely different games. Even the SANFL and AFL are more like Union and League.
