Jase (or any other close followers of the round-ball code), can you remind me of the origins of the word 'soccer'? I thought it was an English word which was a contraction of 'association football'.

Correct.

Rugby was known in the early days as "Rugger", while Association Football was "Assocer" and became "soccer" over time.

Should we be referring to Australian Rules Football as "Ozzer"?

Thanks Jase and Booney.

So if the term 'soccer' originates from a traditional round-ball football playing country, and was coined well over a hundred years ago, why then do fans get uppity when 'soccer' is used?

They're angry. Angry they've decided to follow a sport where there can be a "really good 0-0 draw".

I'd have been happy with a couple of 0-0 draws to go with our solitary win :(

On NYE had people coming into the silver reserved section thinking it was General Admission.

Didn't help when not one staff member was at the entrance to each section

A co-worker who is a complete and utter nutcase

Had many issues with her since September.

Today doesn't quite take the cake, however she informed me of some work we supposedly do.
I told her that I only take directions from the boss.
I did have some time up my sleeve so approached security who supported her statement.
I went ahead and did the job.
I see her afterwards and she asks if I did it, and of course I say yes.
Then she goes into a dummy spit saying she called the boss and he doesn't want you to do that.
But she never told me that, nor did the boss inform me, so its no big deal.
Our boss is located in Victoria and she has a bad habit of ringing him up when he has finished.

So she is more concerned about me and what I do and don't do, but then she had to only empty 2 bins and failed to do that, because she was concerned about me and texting on her phone which is all on camera.....
