This morning I sent the link to Bob Corradini who had a Jeep dealership at one time.
He emailed back that he's dumped Jeep in July because of the way things were going.

My brother has taken his Jeep back 4 times for the same issue. Hasn't been fixed.
They Said it has to be sent to Melb, if they find the issue, and it covered by warranty , Jeep will fit the bill.
If not, bad luck, stuck with full costs.

Some f**kwit floored it past me on West Lakes Blv the other night in a Jeep. The car sounded like it really didnt like it and then when i was sitting behind him at the next lights, all I could smell was burning plastic.

He took off very cautiously when it went green.

Hopefully that c**t has to pay through the arse to get it fixed.

In the motoring section I've noted that my brothers ( company owned ) Jeep managed a massive 9000km's before the transmission shat itself.

He's Mildura based and does around 4000km's per month, all highway miles as you can imagine. Less than three months old and around a $16,000 fix for Ford in Mildura ( that Jeep paid for ).

Do. Not. Buy. A. Jeep.

You have to read this sort of thing to help guide you because dealers lie.
But these sources, too, are not entirely reliable because they are not up to date.
This link seems to be based on pre-2009 statistics: http://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/ja ... rvey-20561

I went ahead with buying my Renault Megane RS 265 because it was great to drive - gambling on advice that the older issues have been fixed.
So far so good.

I note too that individual models get different ratings in Australia, the US, and the UK.
So I wonder whether the ratings are really any more reliable than the cars...

Different countries have different standards for many things, from seatbelts to the thickness of the windscreen etc...

Yes, and apart from reliability, when rating new cars different rating organisations place different emphasis on the various functionality components.
For example, my new car in one review got 5 out of 5 for handling and performance, less on comfort, and only 2 out of 5 for economy.
(Only the handling and performance matters to me...)

Sitting at the lights on Osmomd Tce waiting to turn left onto the Parade. Lights go green for those to turn right but the lane doesn't move because the driver of the police car is texiting on his mobile phone. Dickhead

This comment to an article quoting Shane Watson as stating Devlin Malone's "wrong-un as one of the best he's faced":

Emma Watson could probably read a wrong un better than Shane Watson.

I've recently taken over as Operations Manager here, and took over a different email account that was used by someone that's just been let go.

We all knew he bad mouthed everyone, but its funny finding things he's sent to suppliers.

I went out in the van for a couple of weeks in July because we had a shortage of drivers, and literally 12:58pm that first day, he was bad mouthing me, sending emails out saying I wasn't there because I made too many mistakes.

Funny how when that stint was over, I came back into the office, leap frogged him, then he was sacked and I do both my old job, his job, and manage the rest of the office.

While he was in the role, he wasn't allowed to have authority over anyone because of his personality.

I felt really bad when he was let go, but finding this sort of thing every now and again makes it much easier to feel better.
