Answering the door to find No1 godson (8yo) and sister (9yo) (mummy lurking in the background) with an invitation they made themselves asking me to come round and have a strawberry tea with them on Friday afternoon :D Totally unexpected and very sweet of them.

Given the formal invite I suppose I'd better make an effort and dig out a frock and buy my two little hosts a gift or three ;)

haha...I'm sure it will be very British...mummy has told them we can use her good plates and cups and stuff.

The boy child is apparently making the scones so I suspect the girl will be planing the table setting etc...bracing myself for a hideous pink palace effect   should be fun but I know there'll be some Bombay Sapphire (something else I rate) in the kitchen if it all gets too much ;)

We normally do no more to it than tonic, ice and a slice but as the kids want an old-fashioned afternoon tea we might go for martini's...or at least a Gibson for me cos I hate olives.

That should liven up any attept to re-enact The Ashes in the garden when daddy gets home from work ;)
